Dpreview D3x review: “best image detail on the market”

Dpreview has posted their detailled Nikon D3X review:

“If you can afford the D3X, you will buy yourself the best image detail that’s currently on the market and a very versatile photographic tools. We’ve used it in the studio and on location, for portraits and for sports, in daylight and in dim clubs and and on every occasion we were amazed how easy it was to achieve good results with the camera. Therefore, despite its eye-watering price tag, the Nikon D3X without a shadow of doubt earns itself our highest award.”

Nikon interview: more new lenses to come

Dpreview has an interesting interview with Nikon managers, mostly about the new AF-S 35/1.8 but also featuring a few interesting statements:

“It’s about price, size and weight. We wanted this to be a lens for the entry-level. If we’d tried to make an FX 35mm F1.4 it might cost €1400, rather than €200, and we wanted to make sure it was an affordable lens.”

This is not the last lens announcement we’ll be making this year.
