“If you can afford the D3X, you will buy yourself the best image detail that’s currently on the market and a very versatile photographic tools. Dpreview has an interesting interview with Nikon managers, mostly about the new AF-S 35/1.8 but also featuring a few interesting statements:
“It’s about price, size and weight. We wanted this to be a lens for the entry-level. If we’d tried to make an FX 35mm F1.4 it might cost €1400, rather than €200, and we wanted to make sure it was an affordable lens.”
