Sony has announced a new 24 MP CMOS sensor capable of delivering 6.3 frames per second – maybe this is an indication that a D3X / D4 from Nikon is on the way…
The new Nikon D60
After a leakage about the awaited new Nikon D60 at Dpreview there is the official anouncement at Dpreview:
10 MP, sensor cleaning function, active D-Lighting, compact body (probably D40 like) but no in-camera autofocus motor (exactly like the D40) – IMHO not a good move until they don’t announce new primes with AF-S….
Three new lenses: 24mm T/S, 60mm micro and 16-85mm VR
After some reasonable sounding rumors before the PMA at Dpreview there is an official announcement:
Photozone reviews the Nikon AF-S 14-24/2.8: a phenomenal lens
Klaus Schroiff has posted a review of the new Nikon AF-S 14-24/2.8 lens on his respected Photozone site – and it looks good.
“The Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED N is a phenomenal lens. It is the sharpest ultra-wide angle lens tested to date. The resolution figures are simply stunning and unprecedented specifically at 14mm and that’s straight from the maximum aperture setting.”
Pre PMA rumors: 1 new DSLR, 3 new Nikkor lenses, 4 new Coolpix
Many rumors are floating, but now we have a leak about a press conference at Jan. 30th and about “a new D-SLR camera (a very interesting and technicaly & pricingly superbly positioned D… that replaces the currently available Nikon D…) and three new Nikkor lenses.
